Colorful Handmade Quilts warmed the hearts of a dozen children, patients of the Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics (SBNC), when they received a quilt donated by the Coastal Quilters Guild of Santa Barbara and Goleta at the Eastside Clinic last week.
Irelle Beatie, President of Coastal Quilters Guild; Quynh Nguyen, DDS Dental Director; Bonnie Campbell, SBNC Chief Operations Officer; Dr. Patrick Krejdovsky; Yolanda Garcia, Coastal Quilters Guild member and children with their new quilts.
"We are so appreciative of the hard work and artistry that went into the sewing of these beautiful quilts that our patients will cherish this holiday season," said Bonnie Campbell, Chief Operations Officer for Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics. "These quilters have spent countless hours creating one-of-a-kind cozy quilts, and we are so pleased to recognize them for their extraordinary gifts."
The Guild donated over 100 quilts to SBNC in June, but Campbell thought it would be best to wait and distribute them during the holidays. The remaining quilts will be split between the organization's four clinics: Eastside, Westside, Isla Vista, and Dental. Clinicians will give them out based on need.
Coastal Quilters Guild of the Santa Barbara and Goleta is dedicated in its commitment to philanthropic support for the community. Each year the Community Quilts Committee selects one or more local charitable organizations to receive quilts or other specialty items made by CQG members.
